Triple Coated Fried Chicken

The one fried chicken recipe to rule them all.. as i see it lol i’ve been searching for the perfect fried chicken recipe and i came across this. At a recent party, i made a whole tray of it and it was gone by the end of dinner.

Triple Coated Fried Chicken

1-3 kg of chicken wings

4-5 cups of vegetable oil

Dry coat

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning

Wet Coat

  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 cup of Buttermilk

In a bowl, mix together the dry coat ingredients and In another bowl, stir together the wet coat ingredients. You may need to add more buttermilk or flour depending on its thinness and thickness.

Heat the oil in a deep-pan or deep fryer on maximum heat.( You can test if its ready by placing a cube of bread in it to see if it cooks instantly.

Moisten each chicken wing with a little water, then dip into the dry coating.

Shake off excess and dip in the wet coating, then dip in the dry coating once more.

Carefully place the chicken wings in the hot oil 5-6 at a time. Fry for 10 to 15 minutes, or until well browned. Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.
